ETCHING on location - Weekend course 21 - 22 August 10am - 5pm £110

Work directly on to etching plates on location. The first day will be spent drawing directly on to the metal plates. Day two will involve using a range of techniques to build up line, tone and texture on your plate in response to your ‘on location’ drawings.

Another chance to join this popular evening course. An opportunity to learn and develop three intaglio printmaking techniques:
Etching, Drypoint and Collagraph.

This course is designed especially for beginners. Topics covered include ink mixing, paper tearing, lino cuts, monoprints, drypoint and collograph.

PRINTING FROM FOUND METAL
& DRYPOINT - Weekend course
18 - 19 September 10am - 5pm £110

Using found metal as a starting point and inspiration for imagery. spend time exploring printing from found metal and using chine collé and collage techniques. These images will be further developed on day two with the introduction of line elements using drypoint.

October - December

Use two easily learned techniques to create one-off colour prints. Monoprinting is a painterly expressive technique which when combined with the photographic process of gum transfer printing makes for a great way of reworking existing photographs.

Two very different ways of using woodblocks to create prints. Using specialist tools and materials to transfer and cut your image on the block, you will learn how to print in two colours using reduction and multiple block techniques.

Create highly textured and beautifully embossed prints made from card, plywood and collage. You will learn a whole range of mark making techniques.
Great for people who like working creatively with materials and texture.

MONOPRINTING & BOOKBINDING
Weekend course 6 - 7 November 10am - 5pm £110

Create colourful monoprints using block letter press, brushes and rollers and combine this with bookbinding skills - learning about how pages are planned and laid out.
You will make a hardback bound book with sewn pages and a stab bound book.

CREATIVE DRYPOINT & MONOPRINTING
Weekend course 20 - 21 November 10am - 5pm £110

Another opportunity to explore and combine the soft, subtle quality of drypoint image making with the vigorous, expressive nature of monoprinting. This two day course will cover all the basics of both techniques combined to make accomplished prints.
